Agencies are being advised to prepare for how the Agency Workers Directive (AWD) will affect their relationships with their end clients by an industry expert.
According to an umbrella company specialist, there''s still time for agencies to have conversations with stakeholders about expectations, roles and responsibilities.
With two years to go before the legislative changes to the AWD come into force, it''s claimed that recruiters should be able to lay down "any necessary practical measures" to cope.
The expert says some agencies need to brace themselves for setting up their own PAYE systems if end clients ask for that.
The AWD will announce equal employment rights on temps who''ve spent 12 weeks or more working in a single role in October 2011.
