IT contractors are set to benefit from an upturn in employment in the sector, it has been claimed.
Growth in IT job opportunities has come about as a direct result of increased confidence from employers over the UK''s continued economic stability, said Jamie Bowler, head of marketing at the IT Job Board.
A survey carried out by the recruitment site at the end of 2009 revealed that 58 per cent of respondents feel IT contractors will be in greater demand throughout 2010.
The poll could take on greater significance as Mr Bowler explained that it took place at a significant time for employers.
He said: "Quarter four is usually the period for planning and ensuring that businesses are fully prepared and geared up for the New Year ahead."
IT contractors were given further good news earlier this month in a report by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG.
The study found that job billings are beginning to rise for both permanent and temporary staff.
